BreeD info

A Pomsky is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Siberian Husky. They are bred with a  female Husky and a male Pomeranian. They are generally 10-15 inches high (25-38 cm), average about 20-30 lbs. (9-14 kg), and usually live between 13 and 15 years. We categorize them as categorized as medium-sized dogs. The overall impression is of a small but powerful northern-breed dog with substantial bone, small erect ears, and curled tail with typical ‘husky’ markings.

The temperament of the Pomsky is comprised of the traits from both of its parents, the highly intelligent but stubborn Siberian Husky and the loving Pomeranian. We have chosen dogs with optimal temperaments to be a part in our breeding program in hopes that the puppies will have similar temperaments and traits.  We strive to breed Pomskies who are intelligent, social, and motivated to please.

For more information on our pomskies specifically, please visit our Alpha Line and Mystic Line information pages or Breeder Info page.

We ask that our buyers do their research on the Pomsky breed. This breed of dog is not for everyone. They are active and inquisitive—if not properly trained and regularly stimulated they will be destructive. They require lots of human interaction and do not do well when left alone for long periods of time. They WILL find ways to get your attention and not always in a pleasurable manner. There are many web sites on the internet that offer excellent information on the breed.

Buyers need a fenced yard that is secure or a means for the pup to get adequate exercise.

We encourage our buyers to invest the time in taking their puppies to obedience classes. This helps ensure that the dog learns the rules of being a family member.

We ask that our buyers keep in contact with us and give us updates regularly. We have a customer facebook page that makes it easy to share updates. We love updates on how our puppies have grown up. We encourage our buyers to call us if they ever have questions about your dog or it's family history.  This also helps us continually evaluate the success of our breeding program.

All buyers are required to complete an adoption application and questionaire before purchasing a Pomsky from Aspen Creek Pomskies + Northerns. We do this in an attempt to ensure that the right match is made, and our dogs can live long, healthy and happy lives.

We will ask you to fill our our pet contracts as part of the adoption process when you adopt one of our puppies. These contracts are designed to protect you, as the buyer; us as the sellers; and to ensure the welfare of the dogs. If you would like clarification about anything in a contract, or if you wish to know WHY we have a particular requirement in a contract, please email us.

These contracts are not 'written in stone'. They are always evolving based upon our experiences. If you would like to explore other terms in any contract, again - email us. We do not promise that we will change them, but we will always listen to your point of view and will give it careful consideration.

Our contracts for breeding prospects/adults are individually designed based upon the age and training of the dog, as well as the preferences of us and the Buyer. Should you wish to inquire about a show prospect, please email us. Thank you, and have a wonderful day!

our pups

Our puppies are released to their new homes on an individual basis depending on how they are doing, their litter size, when they start to eat on their own, and lastly how they react to their puppy shots. Generally, puppies go home between 8 to 10 weeks.  However, this is only if the puppy is completely ready to go and the environment where the puppy is heading is one that is safe and secure. Occasionally,  we may have an older puppy available. These puppies usually have better defined temperaments and adjust very well to new environments.

Our puppies receive an initial vaccination prior to going home.  We give shots at 7, 9, 13 and 17 weeks. After a pup is a year old, it will require an annual booster. Our puppies are also wormed prior to going home. We worm all puppies with Nemex II at 5 and 7 weeks.  We use Heartguard Plus, a once-a-month pill, to control Heartworm and other internal parasites.  Depending on the time of year, we usually start our pups on this medication at 9 weeks of age.

We guarantee all puppies to be healthy when they leave the kennel.  If you receive a puppy from us and a health problem develops within 72 hours, you must contact us regarding the problem. We cannot be responsible for veterinary costs not approved prior to treatment. Any puppy which dies due to a genetic defect within 36 months after purchase will be replaced free of charge (except shipping, health certificate, and handling fee). This will be done if your veterinarian attributes death to a genetic deformity in an autopsy and sends us the findings of the autopsy. The autopsy shall be at the owner's expense.

The parents of our puppies are always in superb health. We OFA health test (see Orthopedic Foundation of America web site) all of our dogs. All of our dogs have their eyes screened annually by a Canine Ophthalmologist (ACVO) and are found to be clear of any defect before being bred.
